In Year 5 we have been working hard to create life like replicas of mammal skulls.
We became Osteologists for the afternoon in order to investigate and interpret real skulls!
After this we decided to create a wire structure to make a basis for our own skulls.
The wire frame was quite tricky to create but we got there in the end!
We then built up over the wire with papier mache to create the actual shape of the skull Finally we painted our skulls white and added detail to them using black paint, pen and charcoal. Some of us even used moist teabags which gave a great rustic soiled look.
We think they look great! What do you think?
